This year is proving more than tricky to arrange engagement photo shoots, the weather has been so unpredictable! This was the third time I believe we had tried and thank goodness the weather gods were looking down on us.

Dave and Amy are such a lovely couple, so easy to work with and I hope that comes across in my images. They're wedding is next week and I cant wait, Cooling Castle Barn is the venue and it's stunning. I shot a wedding there last year and it was very impressed with the staff and venue as a whole.

Ruth and Richard are holding they're wedding reception at Chiddingstone Castle in Kent following a church wedding. This is a stunning venue that offers lots of photographic possibilities. We decided it would also be a great location for the pre wedding shoot.

We had already planned this engagement shoot on two occasions but had been rained off, so third time lucky for us! We were very lucky and had a perfect afternoon, lazily walking around the beautiful castle grounds.

Here are just a few of my favourites from the day.

What a day! Mountains Country House is located in Hildenborough, Kent. It proved to be a stunning wedding venue and the perfect place for Ryan and Sarah to get married.

The day started off a little wet and it wasn't looking good for the rest of the day but someone must have been looking down on them. The rain clouds passed just before the ceremony starting and the sun shone down brightly.

The day went without a hitch and I think you will agree Sarah looked amazing, Ryan too of course :)

Port Lympne Safari Park is not only a stunning wedding venue, it's a fully operational safari park! This has to up there with the best for offering bride and grooms a truly unique wedding day. The park is part of the Aspinall Foundation, located near Romney Marsh in Kent and offers a beutiful grade II listed mansion and gardens. The views are panoramic and stunning to say the least.

Peter and Alex tied the knot here and it was a day to remember. The weather wasn't sunny but it wasn't raining either!

After the service guests...

What better way to celebrate you birthday than to hire a huge last house in Goudhurst, Kent and invite you nearest and dearest for a weekend long party!! Thats exactly what Sarah done, and what a night it was. It was a fancy dress party and the theme was the letter 'S'.

Sarah contacted me because she water to mark the occasion with professional photos. After chatting we decided that the photo booth hire and some additional candid shots of the guests would work best.

It really was a great night and everyone had...

I photographed Joe and Celia's wedding in April last year but we never got a chance to do the pre wedding shoot due to rubbish english weather!

We decided to do a post wedding shoot! Decided on Brighton as the location and even though a little nippy, it was a great afternoon!

All of these shots were taken on Brighton beach front. There are a wealth of shooting possibilities there and it's definitely somewhere I will return to for shoots in the future.

This was my first time meeting Peter and Alex so we started at the coffee shop in Scotney castle to discuss ideas, likes and dislikes. After a good natter we set off into the grounds to take some photos.

These shoots are a great way to get to know each other and often make for a great ice breaker before the big day. I personally like to do the shoots quite close to the wedding as it helps bride and groom's feel more comfortable quicker on the wedding day itself. Avoids that rabbit in headlights look :)

Anyway back to business. Scotney castle is...

What an amazing day! Sean and Sophie really are a great couple and were a joy to work with.

The wedding was held at a local church with the reception at the Royal Berkshire Hotel. The weather stayed dry for us if a little cold.

The styling for the photos was modern, clean and timeless.

Very exciting! Next month will see Stephen and I  shooting a wedding at  the Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot. This will be the first time I have shot there and to say I am looking forward to it is an understatment! This Queen Anne mansion is a truly grand building that will set the scene for what I am sure will be a fantastic wedding.

I visited the hotel back in August last year and the grounds look amazing, I think form memory its around 15 acres, certainly more than enough for some great wedding photos! There is also a beautiful water feature and fountain...

Boreham House is located in Chelmsford, Essex. In the years I have been a wedding photographer I don't think I have seen a more stunning driveway at any wedding venue! The lake that leads your eye to the front of the main building seems to go on forever.

Peter and Kate initially booked me as their wedding photographer for a different venue but this location changed after they then viewed Boreham House. I researched the venue prior to a visit but photos online really do not do this venue justice, its one you have to see to believe.

The High Rocks Hotel in Tunbridge Wells, Kent is a very popular wedding venue and being only 25 minutes from my house makes bookings there very welcomed!  Last summer saw us shooting 3 weddings there over two consecutive weekends, we really did feel like part of the furniture!  To my knowledge this is the only wedding venue in Kent that you can arrive to by a steam train!

Richard and Jenny tied the know there and the day was fantastic. We were also lucky enough to get up onto the rocks after the service for some photos which was great, I have tried this prior with other couples but its always been raining. Rain, rocks and new bridal shoes...

Joe and Celia were married at St Julians Club in Sevenoaks, Kent. I was not familiar with this venue until Joe and Celia contacted me but what a gem it is!

The weather was perfect which was a real bonus as the grounds at St Julians are fantastic, the children were having a great time exploring.

The theme was vintage, lots and lots of vintage. Hope you like the photos……….

These photos were shot at St Lawrence Church in Chobham near Woking in Surrey. This had to be the hottest day of last year! It was sweltering!

Michael and Candice tied the knot at St Lawrence's and requested a vintage feel to the images. Candice had collated a collection of photos to give me an idea of the look and feel she was after. The term Vintage as I have said before covers a huge array of looks so when a client shows you exactly what they have in their minds eye with pictures the easier it is for us to make sure the photos are not just similar to what you would like but exactly....

Abby is a professional dancer and needed some photos for her portfolio. So after discussing it and looking at allot of images for inspiration we worked out our plan of attack.

The shoot had to be varied and I think we certainly nailed that, from 50's pin up to modern day commercial in one studio session! I enjoyed working with Abby immensely, a true professional.

Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did shooting them…….

Neil and Gemma were married at Pinner Church in Middlesex with the reception being held at the Homestead, Harefield.

It was a great day and the first time I had covered a wedding at the Homestead. Trying to find out anything about the venue prior to the wedding was tricky, it was like it didn't exist! From what I can gather allot of its clients come from word of mouth so there is very little marketing material relating to it.

As it turns out though The Homestead is an amazing venue that is defintley quirky and unique. It has three main areas including a games room with bar, a swimming pool and and dining room.  With the swimming pool being accessible to the bride and groom, I thought it only right we take some pictures…...

So when I was invited to join a trek in the sahara desert and also raise money for GOSH (Great Ormond Street Hospital) at the same time, I jumped at the chance! The mountains you can see in the photos are actually part of the Atlas mountain range, looking to your left and seeing snow capped mountains and to your right the blistering hot desert was surreal to say the least!

Now you are not going to see any wedding related photos in todays blog as I wanted to share some of the images that I captured in the time we spent in this remarkable part of the world.

A winter christmas wedding at the Maidens Tower, Leeds Castle, Kent. Thats exactly what Stuart and Sarah decided to do after looking at lots of different wedding venues.

Was it a good choice? Absolutely! The day was fantastic and the castle as a backdrop was the icing on the cake. The guests had a wonderful day, the food, staff and venue lived up to its impecable reputation.
The wedding took place in December so there was two givens, it was going to be cold and a percentage of the shots would be taken with little or no light. Long nights are a fact of winters in the UK, this isn't a problem as long as the photographer is...

St Augustines Priory, Bilsington is nestled in the heart of the kent countryside near Ashford. A stunning wedding venue offering bride and grooms a beautiful venue and grounds to celebrate their big day.

Stuart and Claire got married here last year and what a day it was. The weather was perfect, a wedding photographers dream in fact! This was the second time I had shot at St Augustines and it was pleasure, the staff are always great and the guests always have a great time.

Congratulations Stuart and Claire,...

Kings Place is located at 90 York Way in London, a stones throw from Kings Cross railway station. When Oliver and Jodie booked us to photograph their wedding there I was very curious to see what this central London wedding venue had to offer.

The short answer to this is, tons! Kings place is like an oasis in the middle of a desert. I was certainly not expecting to see a canal, barge boats and what has to be one of the most stunning blends of commercial and creative space anywhere in London! After 10 minutes sat next to the Canal, you really do forget you are in London.

The core area to the building is amazing,...

The Warren is a wedding venue I have not worked at before so when Sarah Jayne and Lance booked me as their wedding photographer I thought I would drive up to Bromley and take a look.

The venue itself is owned and run by the metropolitan police but can be booked by bride and grooms not serving in the police force. After arriving and having a good look around I must say I was really impressed with the layout and architecture. I think the main building dates back to around the late 1800's so lots of history!

It is set within approximately 20 acres of grounds and the function room where wedding breakfasts are held is very nice indeed, it even has a system installed to enable you select what colour lights and mood lighting you want! This is a first for...

Leeds Castle is simply put, one stunning wedding venue! This was the first of two weddings I photographed there last year. The venue offers bride and grooms three buildings which are available for Weddings, The Gate House, The Maidens Tower and the Castle itself.

Tim and Maureen had a very intimate service in The Gatehouse and following it with a wedding breakfast in the medieval banquetting hall.

As a special treat for themselves they had also booked a wedding car, a beautiful yellow and black Rolls Royce. This with the castle as a backdrop made for some great images.

Making a speech at a wedding is a very daunting task for anyone.

When Tom Fletcher from McFly tied the know I suppose it was inevitable that there would have to be some singing involved. I for one though was blown away with the delivery of it and think it makes for one of the most entraining groom speeches I have ever heard!

See what you think........

You may or may not know but Christopher Martin Photography ran a competition last year for one lucky couple to win their wedding photography. 2012 was an amazing year for us and we wanted to give something back so to speak.

We had a fantastic response and after the voting had closed and the votes counted. The lucky winners were Ruth and Richard.

Ruth and Richard will be tying the knot at Pembury Old Church with their reception being held at Chiddingstone Castle.

Just wanted to say a HUGE congratulations to them both and I cant wait for the big day!

Rich and Hayley tied the knot at  the Priory Church of Saint Bartholomew the Great adjacent to smithfield market in London. It is Londons oldest church with its history dating back to 1123. Quite a few hollywood stars have visited St Bartholomew's as its been used as a set for numerous movies, including Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes and Four Wedding and a Funeral. This was my first time shooting a wedding here and will stay in my memory for a very long time.

Rich and Hayley had a very intimate service with immediate family and close friends. The church itself is nothing short of stunning! However this jaw dropping beauty does come at a cost...

Sticking to my new years resolution to get the website up to date with all the amazing weddings I have worked on throughout 2012, here is another for you!

Phil and Karen had a very intimate wedding with the service being held at All Saints Parish Church in Biddenden, Kent. Phil's dad lived locally to the Church and this was to be the venue for the Marquee reception and garden party. This was the only wedding this year where the Bride&Groom walked from the wedding venue to the reception with all of the guests in procession!

The day went without a hitch and we were blessed with a glorious summers day.

When we arrived back at Phil's dads house there were games for...

2012 has been an amazing year for us and I would like to thank everyone that entrusted to me the photography at their big day, it really is an honour and a privilege to be part of a couples wedding day. The total for 2012 was a whopping 48 weddings, thank you all so much!

I have one wedding left of 2012 and that is on the 29th December. I also have a ton of weddings that haven't been blogged or put into the gallery. New Years Resolution is to update the website completely before the end of January I think!

Well what a year! We have been super busy working with lots of couples and sharing some fantastic weddings with them. Three more weddings left to shoot in 2012 before a very welcomed break over christmas to spend with family and loved ones.
